Changes to the new Form 1099-K, “Merchant Card & Third Party Network Payments”, may be more significant than expected.

On August 16, 2010, the IRS issued final regulations which generally require “payment settlement entities” to annually report payments made to businesses via credit cards and similar means beginning with the 2011 calendar year. The IRS has just issued a draft of these new forms and the changes appear to be significant. > more
