Stephen Rickert


Stephen Rickert has more than 19 years of public accounting experience, with a specialization in international and multi-state taxation. Steve’s public accounting background includes a hard-to-find combination of “big firm” international and multi-state taxation experience along with the hands-on experience that comes from working with middle-market clients and their owners. It is this experience that enables Steve to analyze the business and individual goals of his clients and align them into an overall tax strategy that maximizes the wealth of both.

Steve’s client base consists of a wide range of businesses and individuals who have some amount of activity in both the U.S. and foreign tax jurisdictions.

Steve assists foreign businesses and nonresident individuals enter the U.S. to live, work, and establish businesses here, and works with closely with our JHI affiliates in other countries to assist U.S. businesses who are expanding abroad. Steve continues to assist these clients with the myriad of tax planning and compliance issues that are unique to these particular taxpayers.

In addition, Steve’s expertise extends to planning and consulting on M&A transactions, as well as working with businesses to ensure that the owners’ economic goals are clearly laid out in operating documents and other agreements and are done so in the most tax efficient way possible.

Stephen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Stephen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and earned a Masters of International Management degree from the University of Denver. Steve also holds a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
