Thomas Schulte

Tom serves as the Partner-in-Charge of the Assurance Services department and as such, splits his time evenly between our middle market and nonprofit clients. Most middle market clients are pre-public and many are venture capital portfolio companies. A great deal of his time is spent in dealing with mergers and acquisition activities in this niche.

His other clients are nonprofit organizations, where he has devoted a significant amount of his personal time as well. Tom aggressively brings problem-solving, timely communication and personal service to his clients – the same ingredients he used during his 10 year tenure as managing partner of RBZ (1997-2007) in which RBZ quadrupled in both personnel and revenues.

Tom’s commitment to service extends beyond RBZ through his personal involvement within the community. Tom currently serves on the Los Angeles County Library Strategic Plan Advisory Council. He is the former Chairman and Treasurer of Easter Seals of Southern California and currently retains a seat with the Board of Directors. He was also on the Board of Governors of UCLA Extension and is a member of the Finance Committee of Guidestar.org.

Tom has either been the Chairman or Treasurer for the California Association of Nonprofits, Los Angeles Business Council, Los Angeles County and California chapters of M.A.D.D., San Fernando Valley Girl Scouts Council, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Accounting Alumni Association.

Tom also donates his time to instruct accounting courses for the California Society of CPAs and several trade, university and community organizations. From a corporate standpoint, he is a member of the Board of Directors and chairs the Audit Committee for both a NASDAQ-traded manufacturing company and an importer, both located in Southern California.

Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Tom graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and has been honored as the UCSB Accounting Alumnus of the Year.
